Great coffee. Love this place and come here every week. One thing to note, however, is that the music is almost always crazy. I mean, CRAZY. Johnson Public House has the warm vibe of your favorite neighborhood coffee shop that is often thrown off by the cutting edge of Pusha-T saying "maybe we could really have a snow fight" at max volume. It's a walking contradiction that makes JPH special.
Wow wow wow. Don’t sleep on JPH. Delicious food and coffee. I had an iced lavender caramel latte with the breakfast bowl and my fiancé had a mocha with the breakfast sandwich. He chowed down before I could take a picture… and with good reason. It was so tasty! Absolutely loved the food and vibes. Only downer is it’s a small place and you leave smelling like a diner.. but it’s a small price to pay for some of the best breakfast in Madison! We will definitely be back many more times.
Great place to stop for coffee and breakfast. Ordered the regular breakfast sandwich, pancakes, a vanilla latte, and cappuccino. The sandwich was $9 and on the smaller side, but tasted great and had fresh ingredients! The pancakes had an orange zest and spicy essence which was unique. The coffee drinks were good as well and they use house made syrups! The menu isn’t updated and syrup is now a $0.65 up charge. They serve Kin-Kin coffee and you get a free shot of espresso when you buy a bag! Great atmosphere, plenty of seating, and lovely staff. Will be back!
Great place to eat, it was great coffee and very nice place to relax. I will go back again. It is affordable and great place to talk to people with kind ownership along with nice college students. It's a very busy place yet it stands out I hope they get more coffee to sell. I hope to see the place grow over the next year. I found it an Ethical place for people to come and go as they please. I really enjoyed my sandwich and my brother loved his sandwich also. Fresh food and lemonade.
One of the most underrated coffee shops in the Madison area! The cold brew and breakfast sandwich were some of the best I’ve had in a long time. Combined with a good vibe, kind people, and outdoor seating options?! Makes for a perfect Saturday afternoon.
What a lovely local neighborhood spot for breakfast! While staying at a hotel nearby, we decided to walk a few blocks to this establishment. Greeted by friends staff we placed our order and asked for the largest cappuccino they had! Complete with a shot of authentic maple syrup (not some fake stuff) and WOW did they deliver! We had ordered breakfast bowls, avocado toast, cappuccini and a side of bacon! Well presented, VERY delicious and my cappuccino came in a MASON jar! Love it! Be sure to eat here when in Madison!
Was visiting Madison for the day and found this little gem! Loved everything about this place, from the frothy chai latte to the amazing roasted tomato toast! It was packed and the service was still excellent! Definitely recommend
I’ve heard great things about this place, and I regret not coming sooner. My guest had the mushroom toast, which she said was excellent, and I had the regular breakfast sandwich. It was not regular - it was extraordinarily delicious. The coffee was really good too. The staff were super nice and the place has a lovely atmosphere. I will most definitely be back!!
Super cozy atmosphere with a lot of seating choices including stools at the windows and even tables outside! I really enjoyed my pour over coffee and mushroom toast.
Had the breakfast sandwich on an everything bagel and an Americano. Both were so good, had to buy a bag of beans and it came with a complimentary espresso 🥹. Very cute vibes, great for hanging out with a book or getting some work done.
